A small percentage of Philadelphia’s promoters or comedians have had the privilege and opportunity to have their own weekly booked show at a major comedy club, let alone keep it running for over three years. Comedians Danny Ozark and Damon D have made themselves a staple of the Philly comedy scene by doing exactly that every Thursday for their “Laugh Away Thursday” show at the Laff House comedy club on South Street.
If you were to bring them up to any random comedian in our city , many of them now headliners, chances are good that they will credit Danny and Damon for giving them one of their first shots at playing at the Laff House, or any major comedy club at that.
Due to various circumstances out of their control, this coming Thursday, August 9th, will be the Laff House’s last installment of “Laugh Away Thursday”.
Without going into many details, I’d just like to invite everyone who has ever had the privilege to perform on this night (or even attend) to come see off Danny and Damon in style. This goes for anyone that Danny or Damon have given spots to over the years, especially those who have been booked at the Laff House as a result of those spots. And obviously, if you are one the fans that enjoyed Laugh Away Thursday on a regular basis, this is the perfect time for you to enjoy the show one last time. Bring friends, family, comedians, fans of comedy, etc. It will be an awesome time!
