If you’ve read our first ever “Featured Comedian” article on comedian TuRae Gordon, you know that he is a man of many ventures. He’s not just one of Philadelphia’s comedy icons, he’s a successful promoter, mentor, and, of course, a comedy coach.
Making sure that there will be a new generation of comedians to keep Philly laughing, TuRae started a workshop for comedians of all levels to learn how to write new material or polish the material that they already had.
In his 8-week course, he shared his knowledge and experiences of his nearly 20 year comedy career to coach and educate a class of comedians who are just starting to pursue comedy, as well as comedians who are already working professionally.
In addition to coaching aspiring comedians (such as myself) he used his influence to throw his class a live comedy show in celebration of our newly acquired funny.

What you’ll see at this show is a line up of the roster that TuRae had coached over the past few months, hosted by TuRae himself.
Myself, and the other students of TuRae will be performing our new sets for the audience at the legendary Laff House comedy club.
Tickets will be $10 for the night, which is a great value considering that you’ll get a great line-up as well as TuRae Gordon’s comedy.
